a) HIMALAYAS MOUNTAIN RANGE ;                                                                                                    The great mountain chain of the world,Himalayas mountain range is situated in southern Asia. it spreads in the north of southern Asia from Northwest towards South east;  part of Himalayas mountain range is situated in Pakistan. Its average height is from 1000 metres to 7500 metres. the highest peace of this mountain chain in Pakistan is Nanga Parbat   which rises 8126 metres
above sea level. some of the world's beautiful valleys are situated in this mountain chain.one of which is the important valley of Azad Kashmir. Himalayas mountain range gradually gain in height towards the north. this
mountain is rich in natural plant life specifically the evergreen forests with needle-like leaves.
b)-KARAKORM MOUNTAIN RANGE;
    This mountain chain is situated in the north of Pakistan. the second highest mountain peak in the world K2, is also in this mountain chain.it rises 8611 metres above sea level.There are many peaks in karakoram mountains range that are higher than 2000 metres. The peaks of this mountains chain remain covered is snow throughout the year this mountain chain is situated between Pakistan and chain, karakorm highway connects Pakistan to chain. Hunza valley is a famous valley of this china.
2)-NORTH WESTERN MOUNTAIN CHAIN;
a) HINDU KUSH MOUNTAIN RANGE:
    The Hindu kush mountain range is situated in the Northwest of Pakistan. This mountain starts from pamir plateau and spreads till the Riverkabul.most of it is situated in Afghanistan.The highest peak of this is  Tirich Mir  which is 7690 metres high. The valleys of chitral, Swat and Dir are located in this mountain range.
WASTREN MOUNTAIN CHAIN:
a) KUH-I-SAFED :                                                                                                                                         Kuh-i-safaed reaches an average height of 3600 meters. Khyber pass is situated to the north of kuh-i-safed.the khber pass is a historic through fare between Pakistan and Afghanistan. the River Kurram flows to the south of Kuh-i-safed.
b)THE HILLS OF KOHAT AND WAZIRISTAN:
the hills of Kohat and waziristan to the south of kuh-i- safed. these are different mountain chains. located between River Karam and the River Gomal, this mountain chain is spread from east to west. the valleys of these Rivers are thorough fares of historical important trade and culture between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
c)SALAMEEN HILLS:
The Salameen Hills range is located almost in the centre of Pakistan.it is spread from north to the south of Waziristans hills.the highest peak of Salameen hills is takht Salsmeen which rises 3443 metres above sea level.To the south of these hills lve the hills of Bughi and Murree.
d)KOHISTAN SALT:
Kohistan salt is situated to the south of potohar plateau.its average height is 700 meters.its highest peak is sakesar.the jhelum River flows to the east and west of kohistan salt.
e)KIRTHAR HILLS:
  kirthar Hills are situated to the west of the indus River and the south of suleman hills these hills are situated from north to south. at the most,kirthar reaches a height of 2150 metres.The River Hub and Liari flow form kirthar to word the Arabian sea. A narrow path between two mountains is called a pass which connects one valley to another valley. Among them,the Khyber pass,and the Gomal pass are more important.the valleys come alive even before the coming of summer.the mountain region in Pakistan is very famous for its beautiful lakes, loquat orchards.the people living mountains areas are healthy,energetic and hard-working.Raising sheep and goats is an important profession of the people here. the roads are mostly difficult to cross.Mountain are cat to make roads. the people living in the plains of Pakistan usually visit the mountain areas in summer.Murree,Ayubia,Nathiagali,Ghora,Gali,Pakistan,Swat,Kalam,Lake saiful molook,kagham and Naran are some of the more important recreation areas in the mountains region of Pakistan.
